Lafayette’s boys and girls both showed themselves to be the teams to beat this season, as the Rams boys team edged runner-up Tabb 155-106 while the girls outscored the second-place Tigers 156-69.
On the girls side, Lafayette’s Deborah Allison, who is also playing basketball for the Rams this winter, and Kathryn Tomczak were both dual-event winners. Allison won the 55-meter hurdles in 9.01 and the triple jump with a 34-foot, 1-inch leap while Tomczak took first place in the high jump (4-06.00) and pole vault (10-06.00).
Grafton’s Rachel Bloxom also won a pair of events. She edged York’s Cameron Clements by less than two seconds to win the 1,000-meter run in 3:17.10 and then held off Clements again in the 1,600 to win in 5:33.56.
The boys side produced one dual-event winner- Tabb’s Blair Allen, who set personal bests in the long jump (20-07.00) and 55-meter dash (6.74).
